Followed by a visit to the Kikuya Family Residence, a wealthy merchant’s house from the Edo period, to enjoy art pieces in their collection, a typical Japanese garden and an experience of the tea ceremony held in the classic Japanese-style tea house built within their garden in 1934, usually closed to the public but exclusively opening its door for this occasion.

The tea ceremony is a traditional practice in which a host prepares and serves tea to guests in accordance with established rituals. Guests respond with gratitude, and together they enjoy the tea. This communication between host and guest ceremonially carried out in the intimate space of a tea room represents a pursuit of the ‘ultimate hospitality’, uniting intellect with sensitivity.
